Google's First SEO Update In 2013 Is A Panda Refresh

In the history of the SEO world, nothing can claim to have such a strong effect as the Google Panda update released in 2011. This modification was launched by Google to ameliorate the quality of its search results in terms of content. Consequently, it improved the search positions of some portals and brought down some others.

While the Google Panda release ended up improving the internet landscape significantly, it also had an adverse effect on people who were trying to leverage the holes of Google's algorithms for giving search engine results. Not surprisingly, the influence of this modification was so huge that a lot of search engine optimization experts and web pages owners are still scared of new algorithmic updates from Google and what they can do to their SEO efforts.

However, it looks like that world stopping internet marketing algorithmic modifications from Google are not as common as most SEO experts offering numerous SEO services believe it to be.

Even so, a great majority of releases released by Google tend to be reviews of preceding updates. This is visible in the New Year also. While the search ranks of Squidoo was affected adversely with the first update, it has since managed to get back into the fold and now shows good rankings. As a result, while it is true that fears of new launches from Google are founded on emotions, it should also be seen that some releases from Google in reality turn out to be beneficial for web pages and various search engine optimization professionals. Furthermore, patterns show that updates like Panda and Penguin are few and far between.
